Expressing ourselves through our homes has never been more approachable. Pinterest brings a multitude of ideas to our fingertips. Fixer Upper and other HGTV shows seems to be the pastime of many. Whether you own your home or rent a new spot every year, there is a certain allure to making your space reflect who you really are. For those that consider themselves to be Pagan, there is often the desire to mesh our spiritual practices with our home decor. Sometimes this is to the benefit of mixing magic and mundane to integrate our practices. Other times, it falls into the "witchy aesthetic" and can leave practitioners feeling a bit empty. HausMagick: Transform Your Home with Witchcraft by Erica Felmann aims to help everyone find the right balance of using magic and Paganism to enhance their homes authentically. This book is more like a small coffee table style book than a sit down and read page to page book. There are big, beautiful photos on almost every page. You'll see photos from the author's home and shop. The only downside is that all the images are clearly of the same design aesthetic leaving less room for a range of tastes. The actual content of the book is easy to read. It covers manifesting, clearing, protection, comfort, harmony, and balance. Those are basically the fancy chapter names for topics like decluttering and working with people who have different decor ideas. You'll get a sweet, simple introduction to all topics. Scattered in each chapter are a few crystal descriptions and recipes. I'll be frank. This book will seem quite fluffy for most. It's not meant to be an in depth how-to. Rather, it's about feeling good in your space (that includes having a pretty book about magick). The timely combination of magic and Paganism will be a good sell to many who are finding themselves attracted to path and want to reflect that attraction in a trendy way. It's not a book that I'll keep on my bookshelf, but it is a fun, pretty book that many will enjoy. Once and a while it's nice to have just a cozy book to read instead of diving into the depths of our practices.Â

this book is just perfect. it’s chock full of useful information for practicing magic and the best part is that the author has made it modern, refreshing, and accessible. not to mention the photography is GOREGOUS. a true treasure to behold.

This book was not for me, returned it. Wanted less product placement from the store, more spells, less fluff.

First off, you don't have to be a witch to get a lot out of Erica Feldman's Haus Magick. This little magical book provides a really excellent overview of the land of woo, with concise and practical advice on how to set an intention with your living space and transform it into the space you want to live in. Feldman draws on a cast of experts for each discipline she covers, like Grace Harrington Murdock to cover the astrological elements. This gives the book some nice variety in its voice and provides really good overviews of key tools you can draw on the craft your space. One of the things I love about this book is that it packs a lot of solid info into a condensed format. Feldman keeps her own editorializing to a minimum, with a really good sense of sharing her own experiences in the right spots, with enough depth to really connect, but not so much to drag the book along.Amanda Dolan does a really great job with the narration, connecting really well with the material and keeping the book rolling along at an excellent pace. The book comes with a 32 page PDF with everything from magical cleaning supply recipes, to breakdowns of crystal energy, to old world family meal recipes. You don't have to be deep into "woo" to get a lot out of this book. It's a fresh way of looking at setting an intention, creating space, and have the home around you reflect the energy that you want to be surrounded with. The fact that it's presented so well and so concisely makes this the kind of book that you'll pull out and re-reference over and over.

Your usual intent-crystal-incense garbage. It smells suspiciously like a marketing machine trying to sell decor and social acceptance to Witches. Ha. As if. Nice color photographs, though. If you really want to transform your house with witchcraft, try my suggestions, instead:(1) Walk around your house naked until you accept the beauty of your body.(2) Take your television to the roof. Throw it off.(3) No electricity usage one or two hours before retiring for bed. Use candlelight.(4) Learn to control your entire house, what enters it, what exits it, from your doorstoop. Any old Witch Mother can tell you how.(5) Acquire a familiar spirit.(6) Read poetry aloud in your kitchen.(7) Put on drum music in any room and dance for the Great Mother and the Lord of Life.(8) With the $20 you would have spent on this book, buy a small birdfeeder for your backyard, and some seed. The photograph of the author on page 11 (black dress, laughing, not looking at the camera, in front of store shelving) should be captioned: "LOLZ@readers. My magic worked! I successfully appropriated and commercialized a minority religious impulse , repackaged it as home decor, and sold it to you in book form! Now come buy from my ye olde shoppe!"

This is a book full of simple ideas that have been reworked to spark your creative witchy self! More the rule than the exception, us witchy peoples are known for our magpie like tendencies to collect shiny things. And we get really used to cluttered spaces and having a lot of stuff that we don’t use. Well, just looking through the pictures in this amazing book will make you want to sort the trash from the treasure and motivate your imagination to create your own magical Haus! I highly recommend!

I really love everything about this book! The way it looks and feels as well as it’s content❤️Finally a book that addresses working with the energies of a house from the Witch’s point of view!
